香港荃湾の話題スポットThe Mills（南豊紗廠）のレポート！本当におすすめ？

2018年12月に荃湾にオープンした「The Mills（南豊紗廠）」。

今さら感はありますが、ようやく行って来ました。

The Millsって何？

1954年に設立された「南豊紡績有限公司」という紡績工場の建物をリノベーションし、昔の紡績工場の様子が見学できる展示フロア、おしゃれなショップやレストラン、またイベントスペース等が入った複合施設です。

香港島のセントラルにあるPMQのような感じだと想像して頂ければいいかと思います。

アート系が多い

昔の建物の一部は残したり、古い資材などもリサイクルして利用しているので、レトロでオシャレな雰囲気のある施設です。

SNS映えを狙ったのか建物には壁画も書いてあり写真スポットになっています。

オシャレカフェが多い

The Millsの中にあるカフェはお洒落な雰囲気がありました。

色んなジャンルのレストランやカフェがあるので飽きないと思います。

冰室（香港の昔の喫茶店的なお店）風のレストランもありました。

行くなら週末午後がお勧め

一部のカフェ以外はほとんどが12時からオープンです。私が行ったのは平日のお昼前でしたが、12時になってもほとんどお店が開いていませんでした。

平日はお客さんが少ないのでゆったりと時間が流れている感じが逆によかったです。

12時半頃になると近くのオフィス街の方がランチしに来ており、アートを見学している方は本当に少なかったです。

週末はワークショップやイベントも多く、お店の店員さんもやる気があるはずなので行くなら週末がお勧めです。

The Millsへの行き方

公式サイトとかをみると荃湾駅、荃湾西駅から徒歩15～20分と書いているのですが、歩くのは間違いです。

絶対にタクシーで行く方がいいです。

私は荃湾の街をぶらぶらしながら歩きましたがなんと40分近くもかかりました。（迷っただけ）

ショッピングモール内を歩かされたりするので誘惑も多かったです。

香港在住短いわけではないのですが、今日初めて荃灣駅を利用しました。
